If you have not changed your password in at least 3 months, it is time to do so. We´ll give you some Online security tips for your safety:
Here at IDX.Marketing we recommend to change your password at least every 3 months. Keeping your passwords updated and fresh would make it very difficult for crooks to get into your password protected sites.
We recommend to use a password generator with 16 character of random code.
A good example is: https://passwordsgenerator.net/ it is easy to use and it creates random passwords with different options and it is FREE!
I know what you are thinking!
Ok how in the world will I remember 16 crazy characters???
Well, we like to do the following:
Pretend this is your password: &TLqmyeJe$7qWX%?
We like for you to set some rules you would remember. For example, you can add a set of characters or letters that you know will not belong on the random password.
For example:
This is your random password:
&TLqmyeJe$7qWX%?
Add: 3 random numbers: 984 and 2 random symbols: @%
Your written down password would be: 984@%&TLqmyeJe$7qWX%?
When you plan to use it you know what is your combination and you can select what you need to copy and paste: 984@%&TLqmyeJe$7qWX%?
Protect your password:
Use unrelated passwords for systems controlled by different organizations. Don’t give or share your password, in particular to someone claiming to be from computer support or a vendor unless you are sure they are who they say they are. Don’t let anyone watch you enter your password. Don’t enter your password on a computer you don’t trust. Use the password for a limited time and change it periodically.
Choose a hard-to-guess password:
The system attempts to prevent particularly insecure passwords, but it is not foolproof.
Do not use words that are in a dictionary, names, or any personal information (for example, your birthday or phone number).
Avoid simple patterns. Instead, use UPPER and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols. Make certain that your password is at least eight characters long.
When you choose a new password, make certain that it is not related to your previous passwords.
